I'm a High School student in my senior year. As you know, many kids are affected by this phone/electronic ban to "help student mental health" and prevent violent interactions with students on high school or middle school campuses. There's one reason I'm making this; ease up on this ridiculous excuse for a ban.  As a senior student, I know how hard school is for underclassmen especially Junior year and getting rid of phones for a reason such as mental health is, yes a valid reason, but the kids can prevent it and help themselves. The phone ban I'm not so concerned about, but the reason of no game things such as Nintendo's or Game boys. As the state law says "no signal emitting devices" and by my take, Nintendo switches and Game boys, that run on triple A batteries, are NOT signal emitting, and are their own item. It is internet usable but can run things that don't need internet. Game boys run on cartridges with data chips that keep the game from losing progress. My petition is this, Nintendo's, Gameboys, 3ds, 2ds, 2dsXL, should be allowed during lunches and non-instructional time during school. If the state thinks the ban should be on cell phones, students should be able to take a break during lunch how they want on grounds. If high school is so called "preparing" kids for adult life, then kids  and teenagers deserve their own time on breaks in middle school and high school.
