Bring Back Competitive Races and Field Events in PE Classes and Sports Days

Bring Back Competitive Races and Field Events in PE Classes and Sports Days
The Issue
As parentsof St. Anthony's School pupils in Wolverhampton, we believe that competitive races and field events are an essential part of physical education classes and sports days. These activities not only promote physical fitness but also teach valuable life skills such as perseverance, sportsmanship, and an appetite to improve one's own performance.
However, we have noticed a decline in the number of competitive races and field events offered in our school's PE classes and sports days. This is a concerning trend as it deprives students of the opportunity to develop their athletic abilities fully.
Therefore, we urge St. Anthony's School administration to bring back competitive boys' and girls' races along with field events like long jump, high jump, shot put etc., during PE classes and sports days. We believe that these activities will not only benefit physical health but also promote healthy competition among students, whilst at the same time nurturing the ability to lose gracefully whilst also adding the competitive thrill which could Foster even more appetite to improve oneself.
We hope that our voices will be heard by school administration so that present and future generations of St. Anthony's School students can enjoy the benefits of competitive races and field events during their time at school ,just as they are enjoyed by neighbouring primary schools.
Thank you for your attention to this matter!
