The Issue

As a resident of Park Ridge, IL, the discontinuation of childcare services at our local community gym during COVID has made it challenging for me and many other parents to maintain a healthy lifestyle. COVID has been over for a long time; let's bring back childcare services to Centennial. The gym was not just a place to exercise but also a supportive environment where parents, especially mothers, could come together, share experiences, and build a stronger community.

Having childcare available at the gym removed a significant barrier for parents who need to balance their health goals with their responsibilities. Without this service, we're left with limited options, forcing many to choose between their health and their duty to care for their children. Bringing back childcare would reignite the sense of community, making it easier for parents to bond over shared workouts and healthy living initiatives.

The benefits of this would extend beyond the individual parents. Childcare at the gym promotes a health-positive environment for all residents in Park Ridge. It allows parents to exhibit healthy behavior, setting a powerful example for their children while also ensuring these children have a safe and engaging environment.

We need our gym to support community wellness comprehensively. I urge the management of our community gym to see the potential impact this service has on both individual and community health. By reinstating childcare, our gym can continue to be a cornerstone of community well-being.

Sign this petition to bring back childcare services at our community gym, enabling a healthier and more inclusive environment for all parents and their children in Park Ridge.
