Cambridge International Examinations has elected to cease examining students in IGCSE Latin from 2028 on, and Sanskrit from 2027 on. This is an absolute contradiction to the idea of 'education' in the first place. If we must make children spend their youths in rigorous learning environments then let them do it in the way that worked for the West since Mycenaean times and for India since 1000 BC. What is the point of external, 'high and mighty' examinations if they won't bother to fulfil the gap in education left by bad state schooling?
