The Issue

There has been a lot of executive meddling on Fresh TV's animated series "Total Drama" and Fresh TV's staff and network executives aren't undoing the damage they caused to the show after 16 years and ongoing.

Because of the network meddling, the Total Drama franchise has been horribly flanderized and altered in other ways that most fans hate; according to social media reviews, polls, and other reception.

Some examples of this would include censorship, huge storyline plot alterations, character abuse, creating the undesirable spinoff Total Dramarama, firing some of Fresh TV's staff for unnecessary reasons, and rebooting the series with new characters then not bringing back the OG cast with redemption arcs.

When fans petitioned for new seasons of Total Drama, Cartoon Network decided to reboot the series with a new generation of characters in a time skip instead of picking up from where the series left off.

This made it look like the series abandoned its original storyline and character arcs that are on a cliffhanger after it was ruined. Most of the damage forced on the original storyline and characters were currently never undone.

The majority of fans would like the flanderized characters to have their personalities restored and the broken couples (i.e. Gwen x Trent, Duncan x Courtney, Owen x Izzy) to rekindle.

The Total Drama franchise was not originally meant for young children but networks made it more family friendly over the years.

The most likely reason why network executives are refusing to bring back the past generation Total Drama cast with redemption arcs is because the OG characters are now adults and the higher-ups don't want an older target audience from real life.

Although fans appreciate there being a reboot, the fans who grew up with the original series still want the past generation characters to return.

Hopefully there could be a redemption season that brought back the OG characters in a college themed story or other setting.

Fresh TV Inc. could expand their franchise and make money from an older teen to adult spinoff like this.

These ideas are possible for future seasons if networks start listening to fans or if Fresh TV decides to depart from Cartoon Network; then eventually bring the TD franchise back to its former glory.
