Bring Attention to Gina Raimondo’s Record in RI
Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo rose to national prominence at the price of regular Rhode Islanders.
In 2011, as State Treasurer, she spearheaded cuts to the public pensions of state retirees and workers, whose benefits were funneled into Wall Street hedge funds and private equity firms.
During her time as governor, she repeatedly slashed RI’s Medicaid program year after year in her budgets, affecting low-income people, hospitals, and nursing homes. She bungled computer system rollouts like UHIP and DMV, and neglected basic administrative duties and tasks at DCYF, BHDDH, DLT, DEM, and DHS. She gave RI distinguished humiliation nationally with her Cooler and Warmer tourism campaign. She barely made any dent on RI’s bad business climate, infrastructure, cost of living, or state of education, dug her heels on lack of administr. transparency, and even attempted to cover up her tracks on issues like pensions, UHIP, DCYF, Commerce RI incentives, minority business contracting, and Eleanor Slater Hospital.
