Visiting HR is a protected activity. That means that you can visit in good faith and report toxic work practices and not be retaliated against.

You can only hide behind the “budget cuts” excuse for so long and if an investigation is going on.. you should be on your best behavior and let it happen without escalating your “alleged” behavior.

Arianne has a good case. She documented. She was acting in good faith.
Yes rejecting a counter offer from her isn’t retaliation in Corday’s  case but he didn’t allow negotiations to take place like they had over the course of Arianne’s employment there.

It was just here’s our offer and you can take it or leave.
Is wanting to improve your workplace and taking action to do it frowned upon by the employer? An employer should be wanting to hear of negative/toxic behavior that’s effecting his cast/crew. Shouldn’t their well being be of importance to him?

Is the culture at this studio male dominated/ Good ol’boys strong? Are men being valued more than the women? How much difference is there in their pay scales? Is the difference so “significant” that Arianne asking for a pay match was out of the question?

So many questions. What we do know is that an actress has lost her job after 25 years and she is the person who visited HR to report her workplace as toxic and the unfair firing and treatment of her fellow actresses and female crew.
Nobody else wanted to risk their job. They would rather endure being harassed and stay employed. This may actually be your typical workplace situation. And the reason why harassment goes unreported.
It’s sad that this is the World we live in.
I stand with Ari, do you?
