Bring a UFL team to Fort Wayne

Bring a UFL team to Fort Wayne
The Issue
Fort Wayne has always been a city passionate about sports, with a rich history of community spirit and athletic enthusiasm. Growing up here, I've witnessed how sports can bring people together, build bridges across communities, and inspire generations. Recently, however, our beloved city faced a significant blow when we lost our basketball team, the Mad Ants, leaving a noticeable gap in our local sports scene. This loss not only affected the fans but also diminished the sense of pride and community connected to our local sports culture.
However, not all hope is lost. Fort Wayne has just debuted a brand new stadium built for the Fort Wayne FC (FWFC) soccer club, illustrating our city’s continued commitment to fostering athletic excellence and community involvement. This state-of-the-art facility offers a unique opportunity to expand our city's athletic infrastructure by becoming a home for a United Football League (UFL) team, thus propelling Fort Wayne into a larger sports spotlight.
Football is deeply rooted in American culture and has a massive fan base that spans across diverse demographic and socio-economic groups. Establishing a UFL team in Fort Wayne would not only revitalize our local sports scene but also stimulate the local economy, create jobs, and attract tourism—benefiting local businesses and community services.
Statistics show that cities with professional sports teams often experience economic booms. According to a report by the American City Business Journals, sports stadiums can contribute over $1 billion in economic activity over 10 years. Moreover, the addition of a UFL team would provide endless opportunities for community engagement through events, training camps, and youth outreach programs.
We have the infrastructure. We have the passion. Now is the time to act and transform this potential into reality. By harnessing the existing resources and the untapped potential of our vibrant community, we can successfully launch a UFL team in Fort Wayne.
Please join me in urging city officials and stakeholders to take the necessary steps towards securing a UFL team for Fort Wayne. Your signature can make a difference. Sign this petition and be part of this exciting journey to enrich our community and nurture our local sports culture.
