Briggs Graduation Ceremony
The Issue
Petition for a Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony
To: Randi Debrito, Ellen T. Briggs School Administration, Jefferson Township School District and Jefferson Consolidated PTA
We, the parents and guardians of the kindergarten students at Ellen T. Briggs School (“Briggs”), respectfully request that the school hold a formal Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony to celebrate this important milestone in our children’s lives.
Why This Matters
Kindergarten is a pivotal year where children learn foundational academic, social, and emotional skills. A graduation ceremony:
- Recognizes and celebrates our children’s hard work and growth.
- Builds their confidence and excitement as they transition into elementary school.
- Strengthens school community spirit by allowing families to share in this joyful milestone.
- Creates lasting memories for students and their families.
Our Request
We respectfully propose that Briggs host a kindergarten graduation ceremony at the end of this school year that includes:
- A short program where students can be recognized individually.
- Certificates of completion.
- An opportunity for families to attend and celebrate.
- Optional caps and gowns (parents can help fund or provide these if needed).
Our Commitment as Parents
We understand the challenges of school resources and time. We are committed to working with the school by:
- Assisting with planning, decorations, or set-up.
- Helping to fundraise or cover costs associated with the event.
- Volunteering on the day of the ceremony to ensure smooth execution.
We believe this celebration will not only honor our children but also reinforce the partnership between families and the school in supporting student success.
By signing below, we express our support for holding a kindergarten graduation ceremony at Briggs:
