Oppose Requested Zoning Change for Multi Family Housing in Morrison Ranch

Oppose Requested Zoning Change for Multi Family Housing in Morrison Ranch

The Issue

This petition is to OPPOSE the requested zoning change for the General Plan of Morrison Ranch to reclassify 15 acres from the current land use classification of residential > 8-14 du/acre to Residential > 14-25 du/acre and five acres of current land use of General Commercial to Residential > 14-25 du/acre and to rezone the property from current zoning classification of Multi Family/Low to Multi Family/Medium and to rezone five acres of Shopping Center to Multi Family/Medium.

This zoning change could create up to 372 additional apartment residences in this area. The additional traffic through the neighborhood as well as additional residents utilizing amenities would be detrimental to the current residents who purchased homes with the understanding that low density multi-family would be built, with a maximum of 210 apartment homes, not over 500. Higley and Warner roads are already congested with traffic and accidents occur on a regular basis.

Please leave zoning as appeared in the original general plan.
