Kent Olewiler Moved to central York high school freshman year from york suburban. He Played Jv as a freshman(Not a lot of kids do that) and then sophomore year got cut from the team. Then junior year made jv, then senior year after coach told him he would be a top 8 player in the program he cut him from the team. “We were already in the process of moving before the tryout so I knew I wasn’t staying at central” states Olewiler. After moving into the york city school district Kent transferred to York High and tried out for the basketball team like all of the other kids in the district. Marty Trimmer(Central York’s AD) is refusing to sign off on Kent’s transfer papers allowing him to play his senior year of high school. The family and William penn AD tried everything to get him to sign and he still refuses to sign because he claims it’s “athletic intent”. After emailing him and asking for a face to face meeting about it he refused to meet and claimed “You can not go from district to district until you find a landing spot.I can not help you. We will not sign off on your transfer.” States Trimmer. This is not only ruining Kent’s senior year of high school but also ruining his college recruitment.
