Waycross District Attorney George Barnhill

The Issue

Waycross District Attorney George Barnhill who declared the killing of unarmed Ahmaud Arbery was “perfectly legal” after viewing video of shooting and determined there was no grounds for arrest according to internal memo obtained by USA Today. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has since arrested Travis McMichael and Greg McMichael for the murder of Arbery.

We are calling for Waycross District Attorney George Barnhill to be removed from office and for a review of past cases his office has overseen as it pertains to crimes alledged to have been committed by people of color regardless of any verdict rendered by a Court of Law and or whether a plea was entered as well as people of color that reported alledged crimes against them that may have not been properly investigated.  Mr. Barnhill is not trustworthy of and for the office he represents and his recent finding would in itself make it open season on people of color.
