As a lifelong Braves fan we’ve had a tradition of great nicknames for our beloved baseball parks. From Fulton County Stadium to Turner Field being affectionately referred to as The Ted its always rolled off the tongue and left folks with no confusion of where you were or where you were going.

Now after this banking merger, I was hoping the powers that be would take this opportunity to dub our beautiful new ballpark with a fitting nickname but their greed stood in the way and left us only with Truist Park. It actually makes me cringe to say that out loud because somehow it sounds even worse than Suntrust Park. 

So fellow ATLiens and Braves fans I come to you today from a place of peace and all I ask is that we let the higher ups know that we will continue to chop all the way into October but when we speak to our rivals fans we do so with pride and not shame of our name. 

After conferring with multiple experts on the matter we’ve decided that “The Bank” is the perfect nickname for Truist Park. It’s quick, easy, rolls off the tongue and also literally has what Truist is in the name. So join me and sign this petition and we can celebrate wins and The Bank for years to come or don’t and let Big Money win again.
