Amanda Coots started this petition to Governor Brian Kemp and

As of late there has been much debate over racial injustice in this country. Some of it is fair, as in the case of George Floyd, something went wrong, whether intentional or not, what happened was wrong, and the man who killed him should be appropriately charged, but in the case of Rayshard Brooks, there is a different story to be told.

The police were called on Brooks, due to the fact that he was intoxicated, and a confrontation took place. When the police arrived, Brooks was not cooperative. Both officers were not able to hold him down, most likely due to his strength and stature. Since he was getting away, the police attempted to use a taser on him, but it was useless. Brooks then fought with the officer for the taser, he was able to grab it and began to run away. While running away, Brooks turned around and tasered Rolfe. Brooks continued to run, and Rolfe shot him. That was the end of this incident, and Rolfe is now being charged with murder, and if convicted will either get a death sentence or a life sentence.

Many people wonder why Rolfe shot Brooks, we cannot know for sure, but as a police officer, it is his job to protect our citizens, and he had a split second decision to make. If Brooks would have ran away and killed someone in his intoxicated state, than these two police officers would also be attacked. This man was not only drinking while driving, but also assaulted an officer with his own weapon. Police in this country are being attacked for doing their job. They have protected us for many years, and defunding the police is a threat to our country. The people who are behind this movement, are either people who have not yet needed the police or criminals. The people of the United States of America, should have someone to rely on when in danger. We need to stand for everyone's rights, not just the rights of people who's lives are taken in a way that fits a political agenda.

I am petitioning to the governor of Georgia and the president of the United States who I know agree with me on this and who could take action. Please pardon Garrett Rolfe and Devin Brosnan, and to all the people who agree with my argument, please sign.
