As residents of the North Smithfield School District, we Elect members of our community to represent us and our children. The School Committee is supposed to be a Non-partisan committee, with no political agenda. 

As we saw at last night meeting, some of our elected members have other ideas. The majority of residents who attended wanted a parents right to choose options for masks. 

We voiced our legitimate concerns and it was clear by their pre written speeches, folded arms and demeanor they already made up their minds and our stance did not matter. One member accused residents of being rude and questioned what we were teaching our kids. This type of behavior is UNACCEPTABLE for school committee members.

Mr. Lombardi is the only member that listened to both sides and he is also the only member that has kids in the NS school system. The other 4 members shouldn’t be sitting on our school committee making rulings of this nature when they don't have first hand knowledge of the effects their decisions have on the children in the school district.

Therefore I am asking that you add your name to this petition as a sign of no confidence in the four members ( Jean Meo, Margaret Votta, William Connell, Paul Jones ) of the NS school committee that approved the unlawful mask mandate.
