The Issue

We are asking for transparency and an independent review of how the crash involving the former Titusville Police Chief and a City-owned vehicle was investigated.

Questions remain about which agency controlled the crash scene, the involvement of Titusville Police Department personnel when their own Chief was involved, the role of the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, and what occurred before Florida Highway Patrol arrived and assumed responsibility for the crash investigation.

There are also questions regarding how a reported alcoholic beverage found at the scene was documented and handled, why impairment testing was not requested by the investigating agency, and whether the same investigative procedures would have been followed if an ordinary citizen had been involved.

This petition does not presume that the former Chief was impaired or guilty of DUI. We are asking for an independent review to ensure that the investigation was handled properly, without conflicts of interest, and according to the same standards applied to every citizen.

The people of Brevard County deserve transparency, accountability, and confidence that everyone is treated equally under the law, regardless of their position or profession.
