Dogs on Brevard Beaches before 9am and after 5pm

According to the AVMA ( there are approximately 76,282 households in Brevard County with one or more dogs (approx. 122,051 dogs) and yet there is only ONE dog friendly beach in all of the county ( Canova Park, Melbourne). That park is impractical for dog owners to go there on a day to day basis.  With the amount of pet owners in our beautiful county and the love for our beaches and sharing them with our family and friends.  Looking to get dogs allowed on Brevard County Beaches daily before 9am and after 5pm.  This will not interfere with the daily beach goers and it will allow our furry family members to enjoy the beauty of our county beaches.

As an added bonus, it would be good for tourism to be able to offer a dog friendly beach in the area. There are many dog friendly beachfront hotels, motels and rental units and yet the tourists may not take their dogs to any beach at any time, anywhere in Brevard with the exception of the Sandy Paws Dog Park at Canova Park in Melbourne.

There are hundreds of successful dog friendly beaches all over Florida and the USA. Let's add the Brevard County Beaches to the list!

I have personally taken my little furbaby to the Sandy Paws Dog Beach and he loves it as well as all the other furbaby's I saw there.  It was cleaner than beaches I walk on a daily basis in Cocoa Beach except for the human debris left behind from humans that do not use the receptacles provided for such debris.  I see very responsible dog owners and I think that opening up our beaches during limited hours will not only make dog owners in the community happy but will boost tourism for those visitors that bring their furry family members with them.
