Help stop Kentucky Senate Bill 170 from Banning Delta 8

Help stop Kentucky Senate Bill 170 from Banning Delta 8
Why this petition matters
Kentucky State Senator Paul Hornback has sponsored a bill in the Kentucky State Senate to ban Delta 8 THC and other cannabinoids that the hemp industry and its consumers rely so much upon. In response, three hemp industry leaders (Vivimu.Com, 3Chi.Com, and CannaClear.Com) have come together to fight SB 170 in the Kentucky Senate. Many hemp derived cannabinoids, including Delta 8 THC are federally protected by the 2018 Farm Bill. If passed, this bill would create an industrial domino effect and cripple farmers, processors, CBD store owners, and other retail shops that heavily rely on the sale of these products. Just as, if not more vital, many people with PTSD, chronic pain, depression, anxiety, opioid addiction, and many other ailments use these cannabinoids derived from the hemp plant to help treat their conditions and would no longer have access to their personalized treatments.
Thus far, these actions have been taken by the Senate, Boone Circuit Court, and our friends at the Kentucky Hemp Association.
Late February
Key member of the state Senate agreed to compromise, but pressure from other senators led to withdrawal of agreement. This was the deal:
Must be 21 to purchase
Product must be behind the counter
Label with ingredients on product
Feb 28
The Boone Circuit Court ruled in favor of the Kentucky Hemp Association against the “ban of Delta 8” by the Ky. Ag commissioner. This is for the state legislature or U.S. Congress to decide, the court declared, keeping Delta 8 legal for now.
March 1
The Ky. Senate Ag. Committee OK’d the proposed law, SB 170, banking Delta 8, sending it on to the full Senate for a vote. It must also go through the House of Representatives plus be considered by the Governor of Kentucky.
