Brentwood Union School District needs to reopen, and not be 100% distance learning

The Issue

On July 6, 2020, the Brentwood Union School District (BUSD) voted 5-0 to start the school year doing 100% distance learning.  Earlier in the day, the Liberty High School District voted to start the school year in school, doing A,B days - a hybrid between in school and distance learning.

While there are parents who might feel safer with the distance learning, the majority of parents feel that our kids need to be back in school, even if it's every other day.  Our young kids need to learn, and can do that much more effectively in school, with teachers and kids, than they can from home.

If there are parents that want their kids to distance learn, maybe BUSD can offer 100% distance learning for those parents who want it.  For example, one teacher from each grade can teach using Zoom, while the rest of the children can get back to school.

Please support this measure as our kids need to be back in school.  It is better for our children's  mental, physical, and emotionally health.

BUSD, please reconsider your decision and allow our kids go back to school.  COVID-19 is no joke, and most people agree unanimously, but until there is a cure, we need to deal with this crazy disease and find ways to get back to normal.
