An end to the restrictions and call-in lines.

An end to the restrictions and call-in lines.
Why this petition matters

Dear Dr. Roussin
I am a 10 year old girl who is seeing the effects of the lockdowns, fear-mongering, restrictions, and encouragement of "tattling" on each other that are being placed on our schools and society at large. I see people developing mental health issues that prevent them from attending school and maintaining friendships. I am noticing that my teachers are stressed with all the new rules. They have become rude to us as students because of all the requirements you have placed on them.
I would like to see the "snitch" lines being disabled. My concern with neighbours calling in on each other is that it creates distrust among the community. It creates an atmosphere of fear as people become afraid that they will get in trouble for an offense they did not commit. It takes away peoples freedom of gathering and it destroys friendships and trust.
This line is reminiscent of Nazi Germany or the USSR. Fear of government retribution creates mental health issues and it eats away at the strength of a nation. It creates an environment of deceit as people will call in on others they do not like and people will lie about what they are doing.
I ask that you remove the fear-mongering and all the restrictions that you have placed in Manitoba. I ask that you will take a look at the long term effects of these lines, and the fear you are instilling in our city.
Thank you for taking the time to hear my concerns and take it with you as you continue to navigate this unprecedented season.
