Our primary focus is to implement our ideas locally in the City of Surrey. Starting locally gives us a more realistic approach towards creating awareness and contributing to helping the mental health of the refugee children. Focusing on the City of Surrey will also give an opportunity to the members of our own community to step forward in order to take the initial step towards creating a positive implementation to aide the refugee children.  Our main focus is not geared towards simply the school due to the fact that we want to reach as many children as we can. However, that being said in order to implement our ideas past solely our community and into Canada and even globally, we need to establish a steady foundation. Also, It is incredibly difficult to create awareness outside of our community without having proper funding and a steady platform. Therefore, it is best to focus on a manageable size which will allow us the freedom to be actively involved and monitoring our progress.

Goals:

1) Our ultimate target is to increase awareness and support in the City of Surrey for government-funded refugee children. This gives the opportunity for citizens in Surrey to increase their involvement around refugee advocacy groups. In addition, this will benefit the refugees as they will be welcomed into a City with many resources such as clothing, books, and toys to further ensure their transition goes smoothly. One of our main objectives for creating awareness is to use a petition. This petition will serve the purpose of showcasing the need for an organization guided towards the mental health of refugee children.

2) One of the major problems with the transitions stages for government-funded refugee children is an overall lack of resources. Our goal is to propose to the Municipal Government in the City of Surrey to create organizations throughout the city in order to provide for the increase of refugees in the City. If Surrey has a large percentage of growth in refugees, it is imperative that they provide resources for them by having organizations where they collect all types of resources such as clothing, books, toys, and games. This will help relieve any financial stress and mental stress from past traumatic experiences by providing them with adequate resources that will ensure their adaptation and transitions goes smoothly in the City of Surrey.
