City Planning Meeting: Friday, March 7th at 9 AM
We need to pack City Hall!
The Planning Department’s staff report, released on Friday afternoon, recommends full approval of the zone change to “Planned Development” in Hyde Park Square. This change allows 80-foot-high buildings and a 90-unit hotel.
NOW WHAT? We need to pack City Hall. And we need to fight back.
CONTACT CITY COUNCIL NOW! Tell them this development is ridiculously oversized and needs to be kept at 50 ft.
Email or Call City Council. You already did? Do it again. A NEW! email template is available on www.savehydeparksquare.org for inspiration. Customize it and send it to City officials!

Set up a meeting. If you or your friends know anyone with a personal connection to City Council members, ask them to contact them or help you set up a meeting.
Speak at the meeting. Here are the key legislative rules you need to know:
- You have three minutes to make your statement.
- You must sign up to speak (either on a speaker card or a form) as you enter the room, or your testimony can be excluded. We’ve been told that you do NOT need to register in advance if you are speaking in person.
- You may speak via Zoom. CLICK HERE to participate via Zoom. You must register no later than 48 hours in advance of the meeting.
- You may submit a written statement no later than 48 hours before the speaking date.
- Before you speak, you must give your full name and either your personal or your business address.
- Again, if you do not choose to speak, show up! We need to fill the room with people so they can clearly see that residents are paying attention.
Donate to help with legal fees. Even $20-30 helps. Hyde Park Neighborhood Council will have lawyers at the City Planning Commission meeting, but this effort has been costly. You can also send a check to HPNC, P.O. Box 8064, Cincinnati, Ohio 45208. Write “Legal Fees” in the “Include a note” or “Memo” section.
