'My Dog is not a pet my dog is family' I am sure alot of people can relate. Myself and partner have 2 dogs and are looking for somewhere more suitable to rent, after contacting countless agencies and registering my details, I am being turned down by so many landlords due to having pets. As many of you animal lovers can empathise with, I will not give up my animals and love them dearly. The majority of us pet owners have extremely well behaved pets and will be great tenants but landlords don't seem to be willing to explore this option and in the small cases that they are charge ridiculous fees for allowing pets at the property. Rental ownership at the moment is in high demand over people buying which makes it extremely difficult and puts alot of pressure on pet owners. It really does seem like an impossible task. No one should have to give up their pet because they cannot find accomodation that is suitable. More and more Dogs and cats are being abandoned because their owners are suffering housing problems, the number of tenants that face restrictions on pet ownership is huge! Lets try and make a change!
