On behalf of Burnett’s community, the parents are voicing our support for Brandi McMillan to be placed by the district as principal of Burnett Elementary School.

For the past five years, she has been an extraordinary assistant principal and has continued this excellence as acting principal from the beginning of the 2025-2026 academic year. She has run the school year smoothly and seamlessly filled the gap of our previous principal.

Assuming the official position of principal is a secure solution for the empty seat that will provide stability for our children. Ms. McMillan is someone who consistently prioritizes community and kindness. She takes Burnett’s culture of WE seriously: she diligently learns every student’s name and ensures each child feels welcome when walking into school each morning.

Burnett’s culture of WE means we’re a family, and this includes the relationships Ms. McMillan has built with the parents, students, and staff. She started out as a teacher at Burnett 8 years ago and has since stayed loyal to the district, working her way up to assistant principal for 5 years while building trust with her colleagues. Assuming position of principal will display the district’s commitment to helping its own succeed without disrupting the morale of the staff & students.

Above all else, Brandi McMillan has displayed loyalty to Burnett’s education and growing its community. We recognize her potential as principal in any district, but Brandi McMillan has committed herself to Burnett and will continue to do so if given the opportunity. We kindly request the school board and MUSD appoint Ms. McMillan as the Burnett Elementary School Principal.
