The climate is changing and we need to act fast. In school canteens, all we see is single-use, non-recyclable plastic wrapping, plastic cutlery and polystyrene tubs for hot food. The only people that can access real plates and cutlery is the staff higher up the ladder. We need to change this. We need to have better recycling systems in schools and we need packaging changed to be more sustainable. To fix this growing issue, I am demanding that Brakes, a major supply company that is, from a personal viewpoint, very prevalent in school food supplies and all UK schools, switch to cardboard and recyclable materials for packaging. I also demand that all schools improve their waste disposal systems. These changes will help Scotland and the rest of the UK become the paragon of fighting to save our planet.

While I am aware and fully acknowledge that Brakes are part of WRAP's UK Plastics Pact, I don't feel like I have seen any change so far. Schools are still using single use plastics and I feel more could be done.
