Save the Venice Post Office.

The Issue

The 1939 Art Deco Venice Post Office is the last downtown Venice building left intact from the old days of Venice after urban renewal in 1964-1965 destroyed hundreds of Venice’s historical buildings. Once the USPS vacates the building, it enjoys no legal protection from alteration or worse.

We are also gravely concerned that the priceless work of art inside, the WPA mural, The Story of Venice, painted in 1941 by world-renowned California artist Edward Biberman would face an uncertain future.
