The Buffalo Public Schools Swim Season was postponed three times this year, and after that nothing was communicated to the team. After emailing the BPS Athletics Department and Board of Education multiple times regarding this issue, there was little-to-no response until we took to the News to get the word out. We have given these BPS departments detailed Covid-19 guidelines that have been implemented successfully across the Nation with no outbreaks to let them know that Covid-19 would not be an issue to worry about if a season was swam.

Swimming is a low-risk sport, and yet it has not been given the go-ahead by BPS while high-risk sports such as Basketball, Football, and Volleyball have. We even have a Calendar put together for the team, and have offered to spend our own money on anything needed. The team has been invited to a Championship meet and if we do not have a season, we won’t be able to go since it is only happening this year. We already have coaches, swimmers, equipment, a calendar, and a Championship Meet! We just need your help getting this message across so we can start practicing and come together as a team again! If the BPS Athletics Department truly stands by their mission statement of providing opportunities for students of all ability levels to participate in athletics, they let the team have a great season!
