The Issue

Reasons to Boycott Fake /Irresponsible Skateboard Coaches in Malaysia

1. Inexperienced Founders
There are school run by two young girls who have only joined local skate schools year back for a very short period. After just one month of skateboarding classes, they suddenly decided to open their own skate school. This shows a lack of true expertise, which is critical when teaching a skill that requires precision and safety, like skateboarding.

2. Inadequate Coaching Experience
Skateboard coaching requires years of experience, deep knowledge of techniques, and an understanding of how to keep students safe. This school has none of that. Coaches are hired with no experience needed, which means anyone (even posers), even someone with no real skills or experience, could be teaching your child or you. This is not only unsafe but irresponsible.

3. Questionable Certifications
There are school claims to have certification from an online course (ISCP) owned by a Canadian company. However, this certification is not recognized by World Skate (the international governing body for skateboarding) or even by Canadian Skateboard (Canada Skateboard National Association) It's essentially a low-bar qualification that anyone, including your mom or grandma, could easily obtain online. It holds no weight in the professional skateboarding community.

Not recognized by World Federation

Not even recognized by local Canadian Association

4. Unsafe Environment
Despite claiming to offer a “safe environment,” their social media reveals a different story. Many students are shown skating without helmets (see below), and some are even pictured wearing their gears upside down. This demonstrates a complete disregard for basic safety protocols, which should be a priority in any sport—especially skateboarding, where injuries are common.

No helmet

No safety

5. Unqualified Coaches
The coaches themselves have questionable qualifications. They’re hired without any experience required, which is a huge red flag. It’s clear that the school doesn’t care about the quality or safety of its instructors, as long as they have bodies to fill the role. This results in instructors who don’t know what they’re doing, which can be dangerous for students trying to learn new skills.

6. Overall Lack of Integrity
There are skate school which are more concerned with making money than with providing quality skateboard education. They mislead parents and students into thinking they are getting professional, safe training, when in fact, they’re being scammed by a business run by amateurs who cut corners at every turn. The school’s lack of transparency, experience, and disregard for safety is a clear sign of dishonesty.

Red Flag

7. A Big Scam
All of the above points indicate that this is not a legitimate skateboarding school. It’s a scam that exploits the passion for skateboarding without providing proper instruction or safety. At best, it’s an inexperienced, poorly-run operation; at worst, it’s a danger to everyone who steps onto a skateboard under their "instruction."

8. Possible Violation of Labor or Work Permit Laws
There are claims that there are also school hires foreign instructors (China and Philipines as shown below photo) who may not have the proper legal work permits. If true, this would be a serious concern. Operating with staff who are not legally authorized to work not only breaks local laws, but also raises questions about the school’s professionalism, ethics, and compliance with regulations designed to protect both workers and students.

No foreigner working permit

9. Lack of Accountability and Transparency
When a skate school or skateboard coaches is willing to cut corners with staffing, qualifications, or safety, it suggests a pattern of avoiding proper standards. A trustworthy skate school should be transparent about coaching qualifications, legal compliance, and safety protocols. Any organizations unwilling or unable to meet these basic responsibilities cannot be relied on to teach a potentially dangerous sport safely.

Boycotting this skateboard school/ coaches helps protect your community and prevent the spread of unsafe and unprofessional practices in the skateboarding world. Let’s support genuine, experienced instructors and safe environments for the sport we love!
