Boycott The Bachelorette Season 22 Demand ABC Recast or Cancel Over Lead Taylor Frankie

Boycott The Bachelorette Season 22 Demand ABC Recast or Cancel Over Lead Taylor Frankie
The Issue
We, the undersigned viewers, fans, and supporters of healthy relationships, are calling for an immediate and complete boycott of ABC’s The Bachelorette Season 22 (premiering March 22, 2026). We refuse to watch, promote, or support the show in any way until Taylor Frankie Paul is removed as the lead.
ABC has chosen to cast Taylor Frankie Paul a reality star from The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, as the new Bachelorette, the first lead in franchise history who did not come from a previous Bachelor season. This decision is unacceptable given her documented history of domestic violence and abuse.
In February 2023, Paul was arrested after a physical altercation with her then-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen. According to police reports and body camera footage aired on her Hulu show, she threw metal chairs and a wooden playset at him during a drunken argument, inadvertently striking one of her young children. She was charged with aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence, child abuse with injury, and criminal mischief. In August 2023, she entered a plea deal, pleading guilty to the assault charge while the remaining charges were dismissed. As part of the agreement, she was ordered to complete substance abuse and domestic violence evaluations, sentenced to one day in jail (with credit for time served), and placed on probation.
New details have recently emerged about additional alleged incidents in late February 2026, including claims of choking, scratching, and physical abuse in the presence of their young son. Police and child protective services investigations remain open, and filming on her other reality show has been paused, with cast members reportedly refusing to work with her amid the allegations.
The Bachelorette is a show marketed as a search for love, romance, and positive values, watched by millions, including families and young people. By giving a high-profile platform to someone with this history of domestic violence and child endangerment, ABC is normalizing dangerous behavior and sending the message that past abuse doesn’t matter if it boosts ratings. This is especially troubling because the incidents involved her own children.
We will not reward or platform this choice with our viewership. A boycott is the only way to hold ABC and the Bachelor franchise accountable. We demand they recast the season immediately with a lead who upholds standards of respect and safety or cancel it entirely.
If you believe domestic violence should have consequences, that children deserve protection, and that entertainment should not glorify abusers, please sign this petition and commit to turning off The Bachelorette this season. Share it widely. Our collective action can force real change.
No more excuses. No more ratings for abuse. Boycott now.
