President Barack Obama and the U.S. government have done the unthinkable in granting permission to Shell Oil to drill in the Arctic.  Pleas to the government to reverse this horrible decision have so far gone unheard.  That's why we need to take the fight to Shell and let them know that as consumers we will not support a company that plans to put this fragile ecosystem at risk. 

The president's own administration says that there's a 75% chance of an oil spill if Shell is successful in extracting oil from the Arctic.  On top of that, fossil fuels are helping to expand the effects of climate change on the Earth.  Oil is the past; clean energy is the future.  The plan to drill in the Arctic represents a short-sided focus on profits.  We need to focus on the long-term future of this planet.

If the government won't stop the plans to drill in the Arctic, it is the responsibility of consumers to show Shell that we won't support a company that puts profits ahead of the environment. Please sign this petition to say that you will no longer fill up your car's gas tank at a Shell station as long as the company chooses to drill in the Arctic.  Hopefully we can help stop the potential devastation of the Arctic with our consumer dollars since the government refuses to act.
