Boycott Saudi Arabia
The Issue
As a Muslim, I am deeply pained to witness a major Muslim country like Saudi Arabia, along with UAE, seemingly turning a blind eye to the struggles of their fellow Muslim countries. The current stance taken by these nations towards the Israel-Palestine conflict appears to misrepresent our faith. The Quran teaches us in Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:2) that we should "Help one another in acts of piety and righteousness. And do not assist each other in acts of sinfulness and transgression." Yet it seems these teachings are being overlooked.
As representatives of Muslims globally, it is crucial for such nations to uphold correct Shariah and Sunnah. Their actions reflect on all Muslims worldwide and can shape global perceptions about Islam. A high percentage of visitors to Saudi Arabia is for religious purposes. A place that is sacred to all Muslims, embarrassing us all with their political decisions.
According to a 2020 report from Human Rights Watch, there has been an alarming increase in human rights violations against Palestinians since 1967 (source: Human Rights Watch). This includes forced displacement, unlawful killings, abusive detention, unjustified restrictions on movement and development without due process.
We must remember that our faith calls us towards unity and justice. It is time for countries like Saudi Arabia and UAE to reassess their position on this issue - not just for their own image but for the sake of peace among all Muslims worldwide.
Please sign this petition urging them to take action that aligns with our shared Islamic values - values that prioritize peace over conflict; justice over oppression; unity over division. Your signature can make a difference.
