We are concerned residents gathering to boycott the proposed Riverside Village apartment complex located on 17 Prospect St. As many as you know Prospect St is a dead end street located in the downtown village next to Pratt and Whitney. The neighborhood includes approximately 14 homes, 16 children and 10 dogs. There are families who have raised generations in these same homes. Home Innovations LLC has acquired the property at Prospect St and is planning on building a 12 unit 3 bedroom apartment complex. This will forever change the culture and community that has been our Prospect St village for decades. We have concerns for the obvious disruptions including noise, traffic, safety, river and wildlife preservation and the burden on our resources and schools.

          However, the most alarming consequence of this project is what it means for our town moving forward. This developer has completed other large subdivisions in neighboring towns. This is their first proposed project in North Berwick, if approved we fear it will not be the last. The owner is not local and is not rooted in our community or part of it. To support this boycott is not only supporting your neighbors who are fighting now, but will make a statement that this close-knit community is important and we will do anything to preserve our integrity.
