Boycott Netflix for defaming Michael Jackson
The Issue
Michael Jackson, a phenomenal artist and an unparalleled humanitarian, touched the lives of millions with his music and his kindness. He was a beacon of hope, bringing light to countless souls. To me, he is not just an idol but a brother figure, who inspired and guided me through his actions and his art.
Recently, Netflix has chosen to stream a documentary about the 2005 court cases involving Michael Jackson. This documentary, in my view, is a direct attack on his legacy, presenting accusations rather than verified facts. It alleges misconduct during a time when Michael was acquitted of all charges, found innocent by the judicial system that serves to protect the innocent and uphold the truth.
To continue to propagate these ideas undermines the judicial process and contributes to defaming a man whose brilliance was matched only by his compassion. According to the 2005 jury verdicts, Michael Jackson was cleared of all charges, demonstrating the lack of credible evidence against him. It's critical to distinguish between sensationalism and truth, respecting the findings of a legitimate trial process.
This is an appeal to Netflix to recognize the massive oversight in distributing this documentary, as it not only tarnishes the reputation of a cherished individual but also disrespects the emotional sentiments of millions of fans who believe in his innocence. By allowing this content to remain available, Netflix perpetuates harm and misunderstanding, contributing not to truthful storytelling but to speculative fiction.
I call upon all Michael Jackson supporters and advocates for truth and justice to join me in boycotting Netflix. Only by coming together can we send a strong message to media networks that we demand integrity over provocative sensationalism.
Please sign this petition to persuade Netflix to reconsider its decision to air this documentary and to halt the distribution of content that misrepresents individuals who have faced extensive legal scrutiny and been exonerated. Let's stand together to protect the legacy of Michael Jackson – a beautiful soul who has given so much to humanity. Sign this petition today and help make a difference.
