Boycott Nestle's Cocoa Products to End Child Labor

Boycott Nestle's Cocoa Products to End Child Labor
The Issue
Nestle, a multinational corporation, has been implicated in the use of child labor in their cocoa supply chains, specifically in the Ivory Coast. Despite international laws and corporate responsibility standards against child labor, this practice continues unabated. As university students based in Athens, Greece, we have the power to influence change by boycotting Nestle's cocoa products until they address this issue seriously.
Child labor is not only illegal but also deprives children of their basic rights to education and safety. According to the International Labor Organization (ILO), about 152 million children worldwide are engaged in child labor with almost half involved in hazardous work. The cocoa industry is one of the worst offenders with over two million children working on cocoa farms across West Africa.
By pledging not to purchase any Nestle's cocoa products until they take concrete steps towards eradicating child labor from their supply chain, we can exert pressure on them as consumers and force them into action. We urge you all - students and citizens alike - join us in our boycott against Nestle's unethical practices and help us send a clear message that we will not support companies that exploit children for profit.
