Maryland's department of corrections in collaboration with global tel link and via path have provided state prison inmates with tablets which have been a blessing to all the incarcerated individuals privileged with access to these tablets which provide valuable resources and tools that help to cope with the hardships of incarceration , with our freedom already stripped from us a much greater value is placed upon these tools , iHeartRadio being an essential one of the tools and cherished by inmates is in the process of being removed from our tablets preventing us from using this therapeutic app which gives us access to spiritual media such as Islamic , and christian content , positive frequencies, meditative guides , and affirmations alongside the free range of music which keeps us connected to the outside world strengthening our desire for freedom which motivates us to rehabilitate ourselves in pursuit of our freedom , to stay focused and avoid trouble within prison and all negativity that could delay our release , in order to access certain apps such as IHeartRadio we must pay 22$ a month for an all access pass which is a significant amount of money for men working institutional jobs making pennies an hour , despite IHeartRadio being taken from us we are still expected to pay the full price for a service we would then be receiving half the value of , We are being extorted as customers of this service provided by via path and gtl ontop of having our rights stripped as humans And inmates , with the shift in the prison dynamic after covid going from open movement ( More rec , yard , and activities )
To the present circumstances of being locked in cells for most of the day our tablets have become relied upon heavily as most of our bids have become centered around the therapy , rehabilitation and entertainment these tablets provide making this issue much more imperative as this company has taken advantage of our reliance on these tablets capitalizing millions of dollars off of our dependence on these tablets to soften the blows and burdens of prison , we must  immediately stop spending money with this company and cease to purchase any more access passes and spread awareness as a united front of incarcerated humans and the friends and family that make up our support systems until we are no longer taken for granted as customers , punished without explanation or expiation and provided a fulfilling and stable service with IHeartRadio or we must boycott global tel link via path and these tablets all together to receive service from another company such as securus who will provide greater value for our money , Thank you for your support advise all incarcerated friends and family to do their part as well.
