BOYCOTT Express Avenue Mall in Chennai, India

BOYCOTT EXPRESS AVENUE MALL!

A young man commits suicide in the most upscale mall in Chennai, the mall authorities and staff do not let anyone help the man, everyone watches him die, and the mall staff clean the area like he was an insect or bug, and within TWO HOURS there is no sign of the incident! Within minutes, they opened up their shops again back in business! Without any barricades, tape, or barriers to the crime/accident scene, few people even know about it!

This mall's apathy around death and suffering is just stunning. What value do they have for human life? Do they value YOUR life? If you were hurt or God forbid, lost your life in that mall, they will clean you up like a bug on a windshield! Absolutely ZERO value for human life!

All that matters for the Express Avenue Mall is GETTING BACK IN BUSINESS AND GETTING YOUR MONEY. Not only did the Express Mall clean up the death scene without a trace, but the Express Group is also scrubbing the internet clean of this story, and you will not find it in many media outlets. They are trying to erase this incident from history and make sure it is forgotten. FOR THE SAKE OF MONEY.

Unless you're rich and powerful like the Express Avenue Mall owner and his family, you and your death don't even exist.

BOYCOTT THIS MALL AND DO NOT GO THERE. DO NOT SET FOOT INSIDE THIS WRETCHED PLACE. What is more important, your "fancy lifestyle" or your human conscience? After you die, what is more important? The Prada shoes you bought at Express Avenue Mall, or your conscience? Which can you put a price on?

A 23-year-old software engineer at Cognizant Technology Solutions, identified as D Shanmugham, committed suicide from the third floor of Express Avenue mall in Royapettah on Monday, July 1, 2013.

Police said Shanmugham messaged a few friends that he was going to commit suicide, minutes before he took the extreme step. "Before jumping, he deleted close to 9,000 messages and 198 phone numbers from his cellphone. He, however, retained the number of his father and a friend, identified as GV," said the officer.

CCTV cameras in the mall showed the man walking to and fro in the vicinity of Escape cinemas just before he took the fatal plunge. Another frame clearly depicted him placing his leg on the right side of the steel handle at the top edge of the escalator and jumping from there."In about six seconds, everything was over," said a police officer who watched the CCTV footage. People screamed and ran for cover while the security guards and paramedics took him to an ambulance.

“NONE OF THE MALL OFFICIALS CAME TO HIS RESCUE. For at least 15 minutes, he was lying unattended. I saw his legs twitching. Instead of helping him, THE MALL STAFF were focused on dispersing the crowd, who watched on helplessly,” said K. Maglin, a resident of Bangalore. Along with a few other shoppers, Maglin shifted the victim to an autorickshaw and took him to the Royapettah General Hospital.

An infuriated public demanded justice and action on the mall authorities responsible for the delay in taking Shanmugam to the hospital. The public was told they could see the CCTV footage. So they came inside the Mall and waited. After 15 minutes, with no signs of the CCTV footage, tempers rose again Meanwhile, by 5:30 pm, In AN HOUR after the incident, the spot where the victim fell, was cleaned thoroughly and there were no signs of such an incident. In no time, it was business as usual.
