Fernando Martinez, the co-owner of El Taco Luchador, Guaca Mole, Steak and Bourbon, La Bodeguita de Mima, and  Senora Arepa, has a problematic history of anti-Black and anti-LGBTQ statements. His latest is a series of homophobic memes about the attack on Paul Pelosi, spreading the right wing lie that he was actually attacked by a gay hookup with no basis in fact. This implies it was not caused by violent rhetoric, but rather was Pelosi’s fault for being involved in a gay relationship. Violence is rising against queer, POC, immigrants, and Jewish people, and this only adds fuel to the fire. He is welcome to his political beliefs, but his continued display of bigotry has no place in our fantastic Louisville restaurant scene.
