Address Ben Welton!
The Issue
Benjamin Welton was a PhD candidate and teaching fellow at Boston University. Recently, he has been exposed as a White Nationalist who expressed his problematic thoughts through social media accounts and books under different pseudonames.

We have reached out to Boston University and asked for them to hold more accountability for the situation, which includes a review of the grades he has given to students as a TF. We were told it might be "too late" for us to make that kind of request. Many students who identified as BIPOC, women/non-binary, LGBTQ+, Jewish, immigrants, etc, were given low grades. This refusal to review our grades, or even acknowledge his actions is horrifying to myself and my fellow classmates.
We demand that BU revisit their policy that won't allow grade reviews after a certain amount of time. We would like our grades to be reviewed and reassessed, but mostly we would like this policy to be adjusted so if a situation like this arises in the future, students are able to get justice and fair treatment.
Solutions that we are open to:
A credit/no credit option for students affected by his grading.
An A or a letter grade raise for those affected.
Resubmission of papers/exams for outside review.
Establishment of a system to review grades given extenuating circumstances.
