Thousands of animals suffer every year because their owners cannot afford to pay the enormous fees that Vets charge.  The charges seem unreasonable and extortionate and this In turn stops people from seeking the help they need for there pets. As a result animals suffer unimaginable pain.  There are no concessions in veterinary clinics to help people on low incomes or small pensions.  For the elderly, a pet is sometimes their only companion and the average  elderly person typically lives on a small pension and cannot afford the over inflated prices the vets charge, and as a result the pet suffers. Something has to change, the UK is a nation of pet lovers, and I believe something has to be done to bring the Veterinary sector into line by regulating the charges they make.  Peoples circumstances should be taken into account to help them care for the animal companions they love.
