Foie gras bans have been one of the most controversial things over the years. Bans have been on and off but hopefully, by signing this petition, the ban will be in place once and for all. Why go to all this trouble for one food, you might ask? It's a lot more to it than you think. Foie Gras is made by a huge, abnormal liver of a duck. In order to make Foie Gras, thousands of ducks are locked up, kept in small cages and force-fed every single day until they finally die. This is not only inhumane but animal abuse and torture. And even when the ducks do die, some are not used and disposed of because of diseases or infections. The abuse happens from the very start when ducks are captures and put on the farm. They are stuffed into an unsterile environment and have to sit in their own feces and urine. Their day gets worse as they are forcefully grabbed by the neck and get a tube shoved down and finally, gallons of corn mash is slid down through their esophagus and into their liver, making it almost 10 times the size a healthy duck liver would normally be. In conclusion, this is why we should make the change to stop this animal abuse once and for all.
