Churchill committed atrocities during his life and time as prime minister and was known to be openly racist and a white suprematist. He is also known to be against the Jewish and Islamic communities.

In 1937, he told the Palestine Royal Commission: "I do not admit for instance, that a great wrong has been done to the Red Indians of America or the black people of Australia. I do not admit that a wrong has been done to these people by the fact that a stronger race, a higher-grade race, a more worldly wise race to put it that way, has come in and taken their place."

It is unacceptable that he is hailed as a hero in this country and plastered on our currency. To do this, ignores the plights and suffering of the millions of people he has harmed both directly and indirectly. The fact that we have a known racist on our £5 note shows exactly what the U.K. government stance is on racism. 

I call to have him replaced with one of our many black inventors or notable figures.
