Despite attempts to extend the franchise, EU citizens will not have a vote when the UK goes to the polls again on 12 December.

Amendments to enfranchise all EU citizens were debated but not voted on in the Commons, as MPs decided the date of the next election.

Currently, only EU citizens from Ireland, Cyprus and Malta have the right to vote in UK General Elections.

The scale of the #DeniedMyVote scandal has led many more MPs to support our case for voting rights for all EU27 citizens.

This week we learned that over 600,000 EU citizens may been denied a vote last June in London alone.

As reported by Sky, this was based on figures obtained through a Freedom of Information request to local authorities in London .

In June, only one in four EU citizens in London were able to vote.

The evidence gives further support to our assertion that over 1.6 million EU citizens were denied the vote.

As the Electoral Commission report on the European elections made clear, the responsibility for this lies with the government.

The General Election campaign is likely to be characterised by further attacks on the rights and status of EU citizens in the UK.

That is why it is so important that we keep fighting for justice and to hold those responsible for the #DeniedMyVote scandal to account.

We will ask all parties to pledge their support for a public inquiry and continue to press all MPs to support the voting rights of EU citizens.

We ask you to continue to do everything you can to help us to persist with this campaign at this critical time.
