Last Saturday thousands of us gathered outside the Home Office to rally for our rights.
Danish-born UK resident Else Kvist, who was denied a vote in the European elections, spoke for New Europeans.

Describing how she felt when told she could not vote, Else said:
"It was like a slap in the face. For me it was the last straw. When I couldn't vote, I felt I had been downgraded to a second-class citizen."
The Danish daily paper Berlingske reported on the Electoral Commission's findings and Else's speech, starting with these words:
"The elections to the European Parliament had major shortcomings in the UK and were not worthy of a modern democracy."
There was also coverage in the Parliament Magazine which quoted Roger Casale as saying:
"The experience of Elsa Kvist and millions of other EU citizens in the UK may well represent a tipping point in the whole sorry Brexit saga."
"The Government’s systematic failure to prepare adequately for the European elections puts a stain on British democracy and a question mark over the outcome of the election."
Several UK papers carried stories about the Electoral Commission report and its severe criticism of the government.
We now need to build on the Electoral Commission's report and the attention our campaign has generated both in the UK and abroad.
With your help we will continue to campaign for a public inquiry and a full investigation in Europe.
Our rally and the press coverage has given renewed impetus to our call and those of many MEPs we are working with for the Brexit Steering Committee of the European parliament.
We continue to press for commitments that voting rights in local elections will not be removed from EU citizens post Brexit and to challenge the 15 year voting rule for Britons abroad.
In the week that the government has announced that it will introduce ID card checks at polling stations it is clear that far from seeking to widen participation, government policy is geared to denying more and more people their vote.
That's why it is so important to keep fighting for justice in relation to the systematic exclusion of EU citizens and Britons abroad from the European elections.
Thank you for all you have done to help. Please continue to chip in what you can to ensure we continue to make an impact with our campaign.

Else and 1.7m like her have had their vote denied and been made to feel like second-class citizens . That is unacceptable and we will not stop unless those responsible are made accountable and steps are taken to ensure this can never happen again.
