The "Pink Tax" refers to the extra amount of money a woman must pay for basic, essential products such as sanitary products, shampoo, clothes and razor blades. In comparison with Male alternatives, these products will likely be more expensive purely due to the fact that they are products targeted specifically for women. 

So, what needs to happen?

If this petition reaches 10,000 signatures, the government must formally respond to complaints about the Pink Tax. If this petition reaches 100,000 signatures, the Petitions Committee may be considered for debate in Parliament.

If the Pink Tax was successfully abolished, it would be a very liberating moment for many in the UK who have fought to bring about this change for years along with it being another step in the right direction towards a fairer and more inclusive society. It would also send a message worldwide for other countries to follow suit to tackle gender-based discrimination closer to home. 

We would like fair and equal pricing for all and seek to end gender-based price discrimination in the UK once and for all.
