The question is, why not have immediate approval for the stem cell procedure before NurOwn is approved? This is part of the NurOwn treatment but would be without the NurOwn process that makes the stem cells more effective and provides a two year supply. This would be an interim measure until NurOwn is approved.

There have been numerous clinical trials in the US and EU. There are currently stem cell clinical trials for MND ongoing in the US, Spain and other countries. The below videos explain the matter further.

The MND treatment plan:

1- Immediate NICE / EMA approval for intrathecal injection of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMMSCs). Basically, an injection of bone marrow derived stem cells into the spinal fluid protecting nerve cells and slowing or halting progression of MND.

2- NurOwn, once approved and perhaps approved early before 2020/21. (NICE AAC)

3- Combination Therapy: NurOwn + new drugs in future from the large pipeline of trials.

Data exists from years of clinical trials for different types of stem cells including BMMSCs for treatment of MND,

Who is working on this in the UK?  I don't know of anybody working on these issues to expedite this process. We need to raise awareness and bring to the attention of those responsible.

Who is speaking out for this? Nobody.

Please see the below two videos.  Please see other videos on the petition for confirmation of safety and efficacy (NurOwn phase 2 clinical trial)
