The X62 route connects Peeblesshire with Edinburgh. 

Since the Covid-19 lockdown, bus services have had to be reduced. But with the economy now reopening, buses have been slow to keep up with demand.

At present, the last bus back to Peebles from Edinburgh is at 19.15, even at weekends. The last bus from Peebles to Edinburgh is at 17.40.

Later services will allow more people to get to and from work, socialise, shop and more. We believe that there is a large demand for later services, but it's not being measured because people are simply "making do" by taking their car, arranging lifts, or not travelling.

We are calling on Borders Buses to add later evening services - initially on a trial basis - to assess demand and bring back later services permanently if the demand is proven.
