Banning plastic bags is crucial in protecting the environment. This is especially true for Boone, which is an area with a rich environment that is sensitive to determinantal pollution that plastic bags and other waste products introduce. 

With your help in showing support with this petition, we can leverage the town council to consider banning these plastics in order to reduce the environmental threat plastics cause. 

Current Data:

Two stream cleanups were conducted along Boone Creek and East Hall.

• Total of 16,646 g or 36.7 pounds of trash collected
• The majority of items were plastic and styrofoam
