Jacqueline, a dalit nurse at CSI Hospital Kancheepuram, was constrained to respond to blatant casteist behavior from the director of the hospital, with an attempt to commit suicide. Jacqueline’s note names the Director of CSI Hospital, Dr. Brinda Nirmal as the person responsible for her taking this extreme step. The director abused both Jacqueline and her husband Solomon (who is also a staff at the hospital) before the whole hospital using abusive and caste derogatory language and threatened to sack them.
