Since the beginning of COVID-19, Stanislaus County received 107 million dollars in ARPA funds which can be used specifically for bonus pay and to address the effects of the COVID pandemic. The County currently has a significant amount of dollars of ARPA funds in reserve and the Stanislaus Latino Giving Circle asked the Board to consider these ARPA dollars for bonus pay for farmworkers in our County. As we all know, farmworkers continued to work during COVID without many of the protections afforded to other workers. Although there are other essential workers in our community, they were eligible for many programs and relief efforts that were not accessible to our farmworker and undocumented population.  

This petition requests your support for ARPA funds to be allocated to a fund for bonus pay and legal services for Farmworkers and Undocumented families in Stanislaus County.
