Boise State - Don't charge students online fees in Spring 2021

The Issue

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Boise State University is giving students limited options for the type of classes they may take. Some classes are only teaching online courses and students are still having to pay for internet fees even with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Due to the pandemic, students are missing out on many of the fun activities and services available on campus; many students are also facing reduced hours at their jobs and some have faced being laid off. Even without the financial stresses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, many students already face financial problems in college, much less additional fees for classes they need to take.

While Boise State has to pay for the blackboard platform, the University should not be taking advantage of students who are trying to graduate on time when students have no other options for class formats. Students are still paying tuition for courses and should not have to pay additional internet fees when the number of in-person classes is limited.  Boise State University should waive the Internet Fee for the Spring 2021 semester just as they did for the Fall 2020 semester.

Please sign this petition to let Boise State University know that you do not support their internet fee when they are the ones limiting the class formats available to students.
